Indefinite story 397 (Taiwan 2014 ; Hualien)
Arrived real late back to Songshan Airport and headed straight to Hualien.
Checked in near 12am , we havent had anything planned in hualien thus our B&B recommended to just get a driver for the day tmr!
Accomodation stayed: Galerie 6 B&B
Staff was really helpful here , as rooms are located at the 2nd and 3rd floor you will need to carry your luggage up as there are no lift there.
Breakfast was sent up to us according to the time we arranged the day before .
The air there in Hualien was really much more fresher due to its geographical location
Met our driver for the day
First stop to Li Yu Tan
Cycling again around the lake, we tried the double bike but it's final that we are never going to be on a double bike ever again haha.
I'm way too bad on bike that caused Sia to fall down while she entrusted her life with me haha!
The shop keeper of the bike shop ever lent us hats because the sun was too glaring.
Our driver asked us : Do you all know Luo Zhi Xiang , Xiao Zhu ?
I instantly lit up and the rest behind said : Her favourite.
Hehs , shared some things about him in this area and he said my favourite artistes have this annual performance here in July ~
To the next destination to view alot of huge carps.
Bai Yun Shan
This area is a B&B with only 3 buildings but its expanding now with its land sold to many other rich ppl.
Visited an old train track area which became a museum to view
Oh I yet to mention that our driver is a fan of flowers , introduced to us alot flowers.
Thought that this flower is pricky? Its way too soft that ppl call it the "blusher flower"
To an area where people can get to learn how to live like the natives there do , creating bowl , spoon from leaves etc. We went there to play in the stream instead!
Off to hualien sugar factory to eat ice-cream
It's so huge yet so cheap.
Many people could not finish their ice-cream so they do throw it into the lake for the carps to eat.
So those carps in the lake grew up eating ice-cream
Lucky they didnt have a shop here in Singapore if not I end up eating all day long
View its museum there, very very old things here.
This piece of clothing is way too rough to even wear , cant believe how people in the past wear these
Driver dropped us near the street of good food , we first had 葱油饼which was really very good.
then followed down the area search for the other recommended areas .
Head to Zi Qiang Night market and back to the B&B
Woke up and prepared ourselves for our trip towards Cingjing.
I pre-arranged a driver to drive us there and with a few tourists to stop by.
To Chishingtan where there are no sand except for stones the beach.
Feels so different from a normal beach
Drove to Taroke Gorge to view its magnificent beauty .
Stopped at different stops where the driver will wait for us ahead and for us to walk to the area he is waiting for us.
There's a point where we had to wear a helmet at the swallow area due to loose pebbles falling
Everytime we get to a suspension bridge , we always try to jump on it so that it shakes but all of them are way too stable.
Drove towards Mt Hehuan , stopped for lunch and the lunch there was really good.
Dried mushroom was the best , accompanied with its award winning red tea.
At its peak of Hehuan mountain , its like 7 degree out there with heavy fog.
Not the coldest I been to but its unbearable for me
I would rather you throw me Egypt or South Africa facing hot blasting sun than to put in Antarctica to freeze to death.
