Indefinite story 397 (Taiwan 2014 ; Penghu)
Day 3 ♥ To the best place I loved in Taiwan
Woke up early to prepare to head to Kaohsiung Airport for our domestic flight to Penghu
Kaohsiung Airport was really small but their boarding gates like different from Singapore.
It's like and open waiting area with different door gates and once its your turn to board , they just announce it.
First time I took a domestic flight , a small aircraft from Transasia but it was damn fast.
(Sidenote: Booking with Transasia was easier due to its english site. There are other airlines such as Uniair, Mandarin Air , Far Eastern Transport Airlines.)
I was referring to the speed that it took to leave its gate to the runway and the speed when it land and parked. It was like my first time I think that the aircraft was drifting. Haha.
The hotel that I stayed is Green Inn.
Ok I'm going to rave about them later.
Just inform them in advance so they could get you from the airport / the ferry terminal to their hotel.
We had nothing much planned for Penghu or I should say that my plan was not planned right due to the lack of information on this island online.
Too much Chinese information that wasnt clear and there are too little english information about this island.
I hope my post on this beautiful island helps those who wish to go there.
My main aim for this island was to visit Qimei for the twin heart stone weir.
BUT my horror came when the boss told me there will only be 1 ferry boat daily departing from Magong to the other sub islands.
The ferry will depart at about 8am in the morning and only arrive back to Magong at about 3pm.
BUT my flight back to Taipei airport was like at 1pm:(
As I was damn disappointed with my planning , the boss offered to help me change my flight ticket to a later timing so that I can get enjoy the beauty of this island.
That instance , my heart that was sinking immediately revived!
Despite we booked a really late flight back to Taipei as we were going to travel to Hualien straight but for the sake of understanding this place , we did afterall.
Thank you girls for accommodating this ♥
Boss even offer to arrange day trip tour for us in Magong.
We went up for a rest before starting our wonderful trip in Penghu
Here are photos of our quad room
Not fancy in the quad rooms but simplicity at its best ♥
The twin rooms were better since they just renovated it again .
Shall show you guys the photos later about this hotel!
Met our tour guide for the day - Johnson
A really nice guy , probably he's near our age or perhaps we were just too talkative.
We felt a little bad because we overheard him talking on the phone that he initially planned to go diving with his friends but end up the boss of Green Travel called him to bring us for a tour.
First stop.
Power generating Windmill 台電風力能量公園
There are a total of 8 windmill , each of them are huge.
The sky there makes the windmill look impressive.
Due to its windmill , that place was really cooling despite of the sun.
2nd stop
通梁古榕
The structures are built to hold the branches of the old tree because it extended too far away from its trunk
A few hundred years old trees if I'm not wrong.
The branches made the area shady and it like super cooling once you are underneath it despite the hot sun in penghu!
Ice-cream time!
We had some very good choice of ice-cream flavours there.
Or perhaps its more of like ice-shaving because we dont think there is any cream within it
Cactus Ice-cream is their specialty in the island so dont miss it!
It's made by its fruit or flower that is why the colouring is red.
Some other flavours are aloe vera , grassjelly , peanut , yam and I cant remember it all.
Time for lunch!
In the area of 小門地質館
Very good mee sua , with puffer fish skin , fried balls , seaweed egg , squid sashimi & Ikan!
Its only for 3 person share for the mee sua but 5 of us could not finish it :/
Walking to the next stop
Whale Cave 小門鯨魚洞
The tale about this area was a whale crashed into the rocks causing the hole in it because its kid was being trapped there.
I believed initially , but it wasnt true. It was just due to the strong current waves that causing this rock formation.
Next up to the Magong old houses二崁聚落
If the doors are open, it meant that you are able to go in and visit their settings.
A very olden feel when you are there .
If you can look at the walls carefully , dead corals are built within the wall with cement to give it a unique feeling. Dead corals , hardened to be as hard as stone /rock do.
At areas which I dont even remember what is it called .
But 2 words to describe every stops here , just beautiful .
Took in the midst of travelling to another destination
西嶼燈塔 Lighthouse
This lighthouse is situated near a navy camp base , thus you will see people guarding the area , no photographing allowed when you are passed that area.
池西夢幻沙灘 Beach
竹篙灣大義宮
Underground of this place is a area where you can view huge turtles and " Fu Qi Yu"
跨海大橋
Back to the hotel where we wanted to go and view the sunset at Rainbow Bridge
Took a photo with our tour guide of the day.
It was too late to view the sunset thus we decided to head to eat instead first.
And ya , we had to cycle again *Sigh*
Johnson was being nice to lead us to the area the hotel recommended for dinner.
The food there was really good.
Its egg omelette rice was so nice.
Walked down the busiest street at magong and started finding our way to the rainbow bridge.
Here to the part where my dear cai stop in the midst of going uphill causing me to fall
Remember that cai? Hahaha.
Rested for the second day in this island.
Breakfast was served as a set , with a few selection of beverages.
The staff would ask you for your desired timing for breakfast the day before.
Headed to the harbour to board the ferry to the Qimei and Wangan.
It was a pretty long ride to Qimei , about an hr & 40 mins .
All of us fell asleep because we were all too tired.
When I woke up , I immediately become extremely upset that it was raining.
I extend my hours here but it rained?!
Reached Qimei and boarded the tour bus where our hotel has prearranged for us .
The driver was the guide that day , she just spoke introducing the areas to us and drove at the same time.
Must have took her alot of skills and experience to do that .
After this shot , it started pouring :'(
POURING OMG! JUST LOOK AT MY FACE AT HOW SIAN I WAS
The bus went along to view different rock formations and alight at a few places to get some shots
To my main attraction here
I was praying that there aint no high tide so that my heart was not being covered.
And yes ! despite the rain , there's no high tide :DDD
Now , take all the photos you can right now ~
Satisfied with my favourite , thus the tour ended and we headed back to the ferry before it left to Wang an.
A rocky trip due to strong currents but we were still tired thus ZZzzzZZ
Hopped on to another tour van , a smaller group to cater
Our tour guide was a taiwanese speaking guide and he wasnt very comfortable with speaking chinese
I supposed we looked taiwanese too , thats why he didnt realised some of us didnt understood it.
But it was still fine because we got translators!
I don't remember where I alighted at but photos will show!
The guide brought us to his shop , he's a collector , massive collection and I forgotten to mention he's the boss of the tour company too!
The place below is got famous due to a famous Taiwan film that took the scene here .
A footstep said to be left by Lu Dong Bin . Just read the description below.
But this footstep seems a little too big!
Bought a small gift for the hotel staffs and wrote a postcard to them to show our appreciation for their help , was too engrossed there until we forgotten that we had yet to see the beach at Wang An . Sigh. Nevermind.
Back to Magong .
Green Hotel told us to call them using the ferry operator phone when we reach back magong so that they could come over and fetch us as they knew that we didnt have a taiwan number
To our surprise , a staff came over to fetch us even without us calling them.
So nice of them :D
Back to hotel and cycled out to get ourselves some food before our flight at night.
Spend some last moments in the island , enjoying the culture there.
Time to bid this hotel and island goodbye.
The boss drove us to the airport , we talked too much on the way there.
Oh I forgotten to mention, the people here are super not worried of their vehicle being stolen, they could just not lock their car and just leave.
A rather safe place thats why they dared to do that.
I honestly hoped we didnt irritate him with our nonsense and I hoped when they do come to Singapore, we could be of help and nice guides here :D ok if they ever come here.
Goodbye Penghu ♥ Yet to fully explore you yet thus I will be back here for sure!
I really loved this place where the pace of the island is so slow where you need not worry about competing with others , everyone here is so friendly that you feel welcome.
Scenery are nice , air are indeed much more refreshing due to sea breeze.
Everything here makes my stay way too enjoyable.
More about Green Homestay , Green Travels , Green Hotel.

They are able to help you do the booking.

I hope you do get there and experience the place yourself.
I rarely brag about hotel service because they were also just so-so
The people there made me felt home and, so welcomed.
They won over top notch hotel brands by just one thing sincerity towards their guests.
I really appreciated the help done by everything , so much inconvenience caused.
If you guys ever happened to view this , thank you so much for everything :)
Here are some more photos of their hotel.
