Indefinite story 396 (Taiwan 2014 ; Kaohsiung)

Back from a wonderful 14 days trip to Taiwan.
I'm going to split my travel experience according to the areas we went if not it will be too lengthy.

SG Taoyuan Airport;
HSR to Kaohsiung
Day 1 & 2

First to introduce the people that I have seen for the 14 days straight . Or perhaps more because we had some other work to do before going to taiwan.

From the left , Jaime (Sia) , Julia (Lia) , Joyce(Cai)
Waiting for boarding at the departure gate.
Travelling with Jetstar this time
After a four and a half hours flight , here we are in Taoyuan Airport.
Woke up and saw this amazing sunrise in the plane:D
Boarded the HSR towards Kaohsiung (Zuoying station)

Transferred to the Kaohsiung MRT and headed to our hotel
We arrived a little too early as for the check in time thus we just deposited our luggage and went on with our itinerary
Kaohsiung MRT felt a little too deserted , their stations are always not crowded not even on peak hours .

First destination
Cijin island
We went to board a ferry @ Gushan Ferry Pier (Nearest Mrt Station ; Sizihwan)
It felt like a ferry ride from Singapore to Pulau Ubin.

Motorbikes were allowed on board . If you can see in the photo.
It was stated online that Cijin Island was a place of fun and seafood.
I agreed on the seafood part but I dont see the fun of it.
There's nothing much on the island or perhaps we never got to the fun part.
We didnt have seafood there since I was having some skin rash on my poor face :(
Thus they accomodated me and we went to Tribbiani cafe to eat.
Busy with connecting to wifi and chatting with the family members.

Their sweet potato fries are so good ! (I'm a potato fan)
The staff offered us a Polaroid shot to be pasted in the cafe wall.
Decorated and tada~

After meal , we decided to walk to The Pier-2 Art center instead since it was of walking distance.
Taiwanese are really all so friendly and helpful, unlike us.
Many offer helped and were all curious of our nationality.
Once they heard that we are from Singapore and going to be here for 14days , their first reaction will be
你们好厉害喔. Is it that amazing to be travelling on our own? O.o
So many photo shoot happening on the same day at the Art center

Headed back to the hotel to check in and have some rest before heading out since all of us didnt had good rest in the night flight
So there's our hotel photos! @ The Icon Hotel
This hotel is nice , with good staff and design.
Rooms are clean just that I didnt like their flooring.

Met up my taiwan friend whom I knew from intern @ Conrad.
Pinhong and his friend Jeffrey brought us to Xin Jue Jiang 新崛江(Nearest station ; Central Park) which is their shopping district for the youths.
Finally a more happening place in Kaohsiung , we all claimed.
On the first night , we bought all kinds of food in the street to try.
This very cute pot of plant is actually an ice-cream with tons of oreo crush :D

Their muahchee are different from us . There is a variety of muahchee in Taiwan too , more to explain in the other posts.

Dome of Light(Nearest station ;Formosa Boulevard) was in the mrt station itself .
Kaohsiung was is like a city of arts . Everywhere you go , you see art pieces.
Could not get the full view of this dome because I'm not skilled ;/

Now instead of our taiwanese friend leading the way , we girls end up leading them to Liuhe Night Market六合夜市 because they didnt knew that it was such a walking distance from central park to Formosa Boulevard.

We really literally tried almost all the food at the street and was too full all these street food
Tried to find a decent gift to thank our taiwanese friend for bringing us that night but could not get something nice. So we went scrambling around to get drinks and chocolates for them.
Could have gotten them a gift from Singapore if we knew that we are meeting them but it was way too last minute!
Walked back to our hotel and had alot of fun conversation in telling them about Singapore culture.
On how our la leh lor makes alot of differences in a sentence and our mixed singlish.
Time to bid goodbye and rest for day 2 .

Breakfast was served in a set , not bad but a little not filling for us !

First stop to Wu Pao Chun Bakery
Bought an extreme expensive and huge bread just because it was an award winning bread.
Est. SGD$12 and we still could not finish by in 3 days.
Most of it was eaten by cai since the others didnt like the taste of it.
Lychee Rose Champion Bread see the size of it.
I was wearing a mask cause my skin was really terrible to be seen :(
Met a lady that helped us on the first day of our trip!
Thus a new friend made , hope she comes to Singapore soon , so that we can be tour guides here! :D

Headed to Dream Mall next , nothing amazing here .
Just a huge shopping mall like Vivocity.
Went to Perfume Dance Cafe to dine.

Up to the Ferris Wheel to view the city of Kaohsiung , very different from Singapore I would say.

After much indecisiveness of heading where next , we decide to just go back to our hotel and ride a bike to Ai He instead.
RIDING A BIKE IS A CHORE AND I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY AM I RIDING ONE.
I'm so bad at it :( and I have no sports cell within me sigh.
Not going to take a boat down this river because its meaningless.

Headed back and time for shopping again at Xin Jue Jiang because its hard to shop with guys afterall.
Bumped into Pin Yi there as he was having his free time after his army training!
Next up to Ruifeng Night market, this place is huge but we didnt managed to shop the whole area as we had an early flight the next day to Penghu.
This night market was a good variety mix of shopping , games and food.
*Still thinking of my colourful clover bracelet but too bad we didnt have time to do it .
Next post : Penghu ( An island I have been telling everyone on my social media and in person!)
