Indefinite Story 373 UAE Dubai
Hi guys , I'm back from UAE and conclusion for it : The best study trip ever in my entire student life!
So let's start with the first day to Dubai!
First time on Emirates but I would prefer SQ service although Emirates has better facilities as a A380
Flight was terribly long , 7.5 hrs .
Me being me , I have issue sitting for so long doing nothing , its hard to fall asleep in a sitting position too :(
Immigration to clear the customs at dubai was really a long wait.
An hour trip to Abu Dhabi , Cristal Salam Hotel the first hotel we are staying for the trip .
Checked in around 5am , everyone was so tired and we had to get up in like 3 hours time for the first presentation talk in the hotel itself.
Basically , everyday we had to wear formal as everyday we have formal events to attend to.
So who goes overseas and goes around in formal ( More importantly , wearing long sleeves at a climate almost like Singapore)
But given a choice now , I will rather wear formal everyday at UAE rather being in SG.
Tour guide mention that Abu Dhabi was like Johor and Dubai was like Singapore which is very true.
The feeling you get when you are in both cities , its totally the same we get here.
Buildings around were usually in sand colour , they had to cut down maintenance cost as sand storms is a frequent happening there.
Headed for a Press conference at ADNEC CC , a very eye opening experience there .
Had our first ever press kit too , we were feeling so excited about being in a real press conference.
We had transmitter for direct translation to English as the event was hosted in Arabic.
Lunch at Heritage Village.
Food was ok but not to my liking as it Arabic style food . The water there at UAE was so clear and clean! Like those you see in Maldives photos . Sand was really fine and not coarse like Singapore's ones.
Hyatt Capital Gate for Site inspection
Very Impressive building that was man made to slant at 18 degree , Archi people will find it amazing
Abu Dhabi Mall for dinner and own time .
Settled for Pizza Hut for all the Hotel students.
5 regular pizza with drinks and sides , its only $8 per person among 10 ppl share.
That's impossible to get in Singapore.
Day 2
Went back to ADNEC CC for more explanation about the area
It has an area of 55,000 m square , 11 halls which can be open all at the same time.
Insanely huge but who the hell uses such a big area .
Met the CEO of ADNEC CC , which was previously the CEO of Suntec Singapore .
The best hotel that Wow-ed me thoroughout the whole trip , Emirates Palace.
It has a Gold ATM inside , which sells gold watch , necklace and such .
Very spacious hotel , The suites are just too impressive
The 8th floor is are rooms cater to only rulers of the GCC but we cannot go up due to security reasons
Had tea time , the staff who made me tea , taught me its good to have tea with honey !
And it really tasted good.
Day 4
Checked out of Cristal Salam and headed to Dubai .
We changed our hotel from Gloria to Ascott :D
First stop to Armani Hotel.
When I meant Armani Hotel , its is really opened by Giorgio Armani .
It's a fashion luxury hotel at Burj Khalifa . OMG
Other than fashion I think there's nothing else to explain this hotel .
Valerie was our guide for the day .
Armani Hotel and The Address is under the same hotel chain .
So we went to both by feet.

After the site inspection , we went back to Ascott to check in and change !
The apartment is just wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh , its even bigger than my own house
Alicia and me stole the master bedroom hehe

Changed and headed to The global village for the night
It was an area which you can find alot of countries there including Singapore
Day 5
Gathered at Kelly's room for breakfast .
Chef Goh was in the house !
See got Maid Goh also haha!
Went to the Palm Island of Dubai
It is a man made island but this place is pure boring la
Just some hotel we went to see the exterior.
Went Emirates mall for shopping and then headed to this so called cruise for dinner.
There was a performance by this man who really can spin!
He really spinned throughout the whole show and his clothes still have LED
And this was the night where Kieman went mad to dance to Gangnam Style.
I only can say he damn daring.
Day 6
Went to Burj Khalifa Observation Deck
My little purple umbrella was almost left there in dubai :(
Umbrella wasnt allow to observation deck ;/
But Burj Khalifa they spent alot of effort to impress guest unlike Taipei 101
There's an aquarium in Dubai Mall itself!
And people , I'm so going to haolian to you.
See that Red rolls royce? It's parked outside Burj Al Arab
AND I WENT IN FOR HIGH TEA.
Come on , at least I went there once in my whole life right?
Even though its just high tea and not me staying there.

Changed and headed to Dubai Airport to a flight back Singapore.
Overall UAE trip this time was very eye opening , a very good experience for me .
It's like I might not have the chance ever in my life to step into those very luxurious hotel
And I'm very lucky to get this chance to go to this trip with a big bunch of awesome people :D

They even have their own Auditorium for show like musicals , ballet shows
Their chairs are so comfy and can lean back somemore
Just too impressed by this place!
Here comes the best part about the whole trip .
Desert time :D
We had to take Jeep in as buses couldn't drive into sand.
The most exciting ride ever when it comes to the slopes and each time we scream and laughed
the driver got even happier and drives like a F1 Driver
The more you scream the more they accelerate!
Like roller coaster!
I keep mentioning that my 2.6k worth it all haha!
BEST RIDE EVER !
Desert sand was really fine and there were camels poops everywhere haha!
We were like retards climbing up a desert slope and either running down or sliding down from it
Came to a desert camp for dinner and a little fun!
Camel riding time , desert slide !
Sheesha was available in everywhere in UAE .
The most suprising thing was the toilet at the camp was so clean!
A belly dancer was performing for us during the night too !
A number of us joined in too , heheh I pulled Alicia up to go.
Stars there was probably the most I ever saw in my whole life ♥
We just laid there in the middle of the carpeted floor to stare the sky.
The long you look at it , the more stars appeared as you are adapting to the lighting .
Probably the best day at Abu Dhabi .
Day 3
I wokeup all excited to take the world's fastest roller coaster at the Ferrari Theme Park
BUT it was all a disapppointment. :( It was on maintenance. FML.
Oh ya , Xian found his mate at ferrari world , Mimic that move so slowly !
Gforce was averagely scary , because Im afraid of height .
And I got all so upset the whole of that day..
Masdar City , the so called eco city of Abu Dhabi , Its a college with its eco friendly measures.
Nearing or No carbon footprint at all.
The only cool thing about the whole day to me was the PRT ( Personal Rapid Transport)
Went to the Grand Mosque that day
A very impressive Mosque which was constructed for 12 years .
Everywhere was so detailed , Chandeliers were made of swarsoski and its so WOW.
Girls was not allowed to show their skin except for the face .
So we were supposed to wear a long robe and a head scarf.
The history of this place is just too much work and money
The worst dissapointment came , we got notified we couldn't go to Burj Al arab for a site inspection
That's when I got so so so so upset in the whole trip

AHHHH , Burj Al Arab ! The world's only 7 star hotel!

Kelly insisted we must take this photo like a typical tourist
While half of the people went to Dubai Mall
We went to the Souk , Traditional market
Sounds like Zouk right?
The local dress them up hahah , I realised they like to let tourist experience this!
To make Flower teas , my best buy
Found some good local food at a very cheap price!
Went back to Dubai Mall .There's an aquarium in Dubai Mall itself!

Kelly and I went back to Dubai Mall to view the Dubai Fountain show . Burj Khalifa in the night
Changed and headed to Dubai Airport to a flight back Singapore.
